License to Krill
Frequently asked questions.

Q: Mono-Krill says it's worth 0 points if you have any Mono-Krill, but it's worth 3 Krill Kred, so is it worth 0 or 3? The Fun Fact suggests the card should say "more than one"?

A: Yes, as written, the card is not as clear as it could be. It should read, "0 points if you have any *other* MONO-KRILL". The fun fact at the bottom of the card is also not the best choice, given the poor wording. The idea behind this card is that you want exactly 1 of them and no more. The krill in the picture likes to pontificate by himself and gets jealous when other pontificating krill are nearby.

Q: What happens if the Krill Deck runs out of cards before the game ends?

A: This only rarely happens in larger player-count games. In this case, the whale has a bowel movement, and all cards are removed from the whale and shuffled. This becomes the new Krill Deck. The Kelp Cards that were in the whale remain mixed in the Krill Deck. The Ocean Market must always be fully populated for a player's turn.

Q: Some Kelp Cards say "Most Total Kelp" and some says "Most Kelp." Is there a difference?

A: No, there is no different and these are the same statement. The Player(s) with the most total Kelp Cards is/are awarded the bonus 3 points.

Q: What is "Sky Hopping" as mentioned in the rulebook (Page 2)?

A: This is a typo and should be "Spy Hopping".

Q: In a 2-Player set up, the Ocean Market card ‘Whale Targets You Draw 2, Play 1’ clears the entire Ocean Market. Does this include the top card of the Krill pile?

A: No, this is only the revealed cards on the other Ocean Market cards.

Q: Why is one side of the Red Kelp card different from the other?

A: There is no functional difference. They are different because the wrong file was loaded for the back. This does not affect gameplay.

Q: ‘Shrimply the Best #2’ card just says (Part of a Set) with no further rules printed on it.

A: It does not do anything special. It is just worth 2 points. However, there is another card (Shrimply the Best #1) that uses it as a combo. So, it has a hint about that on the card.

Q: If you have the most kelp cards will you get the 3 bonus points per card or once?
A: The bonus for the most Kelp (Green, Red, and Golden) is 3 points for the entire set. Additionally, the only Kelp that score individually are the Red Kelp (at -1 points each) and Golden Kelp (at 2 points).

For example, at the end of the game:
Player A: (2) Red Kelp, (2) Green Kelp
Player B: (1) Golden Kelp, (1) Green Kelp
Player C: (2) Green Kelp

Player A has the most total Kelp cards (4 total) and would score +3 points for their set of Kelp. Additionally, they would score -2 for the two Red Kelp. Therefore, they have 3 - 2 = 1 Point from all their Kelp.
Player B has 2 points for their kelp (because of the Golden Kelp).
Player C has no points from their Kelp.
